Chris Hemsworth, the actor from the Land Down Under, got his big break in Hollywood by playing Thor, the God of Thunder, for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Of course, he was already a star in Australia by then, having had a role in the hit television series Home and Away, but it was his stint as the God of Thunder that made him a household name all over the world. To his credit, Hemsworth has proven himself to be a versatile actor, who doesn’t shy away from playing second fiddle to other stars, too.
